The Crystal Maze Live Experience based on the cult TV series is moving to the West End from Angel due to “unprecedented” demand.

The attraction, which has been visited by Cara Delevingne and rapper Skepta, will be based at a larger venue at the Trocadero in Shaftesbury Avenue from spring next year, with 32 new games, a bar and all-day opening.

The move follows its success in Islington, where the attraction has drawn more than 300,000 visitors since launching in 2015, after the set of the hit Channel 4 series was recreated in a warehouse.

Participants working in teams dash around four zones — Future, Medieval, Aztec and Industrial — completing a series of timed challenges to gain crystals, as in the TV version. It is now hoped the same format can work in a West End setting to become one of London’s major tourist attractions.

Tickets for the experience are available from 11am on November 1 and can be purchased here.

Tom Lionetti-Maguire, co-founder of Little Lion Entertainment, the production company behind the Experience, said: “The past few years have seen success beyond our wildest expectations and the culmination is launching our new flagship venue on Shaftesbury Avenue.

“To be opening an attraction in the Trocadero, that I went to as a kid, feels like a dream... this will set a new standard for entertainment in London.”

Although the maze is relocating the current games will not be transferred.
