Our purpose at RAM is to provide professional financial advisers with a range of tax efficient and specialist investments which they can use to diversify private clients’ portfolios and make them more tax efficient.
We represent some of the most innovative and experienced investment teams in the specialist and tax efficient sectors. We do not manage or market in-house funds or products – we only market investments provided by external fund managers whose products we believe should diversify and could add significant value to investors’ portfolios.
The Team
Lenny Norstrand
Lenny was born in Denmark and moved to the UK when he was 11 years old. He was educated at Cranleigh School and has a Masters Degree in Corporate and International Finance from Durham University. Lenny has 21 years experience in the City where he started as an institutional broker at Société Generale in 1994. Later he worked as a Manager at Noble & Company in their Corporate Finance Division. In 2002 Lenny was appointed Divisional Director of Corporate Finance at Brewin Dolphin Securities where his main role was to establish and head the Brewin Dolphin Tax Solutions team. Lenny founded RAM Capital Partners LLP in 2007.
Matthew Brown
Matt was born in Essex and has been in financial services for 33 years. Having previously worked for Medical Sickness, Prudential and Guinness Flight, he then set up his own IFA company Argent Consulting before spending 5 years as Marketing Manager with Downing Corporate Finance marketing VCTs and EISs. For the last 2 years of his “employed” career, Matt was Head of Intermediary Sales at Close Investments before becoming a partner at RAM in 2007. Matt is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Alex Beck
Alex was born in High Wycombe and has been in financial services for 6 years. He graduated from Exeter University with a degree in History & Philosophy and then joined the army where he was stationed in Germany and served in Iraq. On leaving the army he joined BNY Mellon where he worked on the UK sales desk. In 2010 he moved to Threadneedle Investments as a Business Development Manager selling investment funds to IFAs across the South of England. Alex is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and joined RAM Capital Partners in 2014.
Jane Eva
Jane graduated from the College of St Paul and St Mary in Cheltenham with a B.Ed. degree in Physical Education. She taught PE before retraining to become a primary school teacher at Homerton College in Cambridge. She then taught for many years in a local preparatory school in Chelmsford. Whilst bringing up her family she also worked in the family sportswear business. Having always wanted to work in London, and seeking a career change, Jane was lucky to be given the opportunity to join RAM Capital Partners as PA in 2014.

- Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs)
- Enterprise Investment Schemes (EISs)
- Seed Enterprise Investment Schemes (SEISs)
- Business Investment Relief (BIR)
RAM only promotes tax efficient vehicles which offer Government approved tax incentives.
RAM is the only significant independent fund raiser in the tax efficient market. We have a proven track record of raising funds from financial intermediaries throughout the UK and have been involved in raising nearly £1.5bn through a mixture of specialist and tax efficient products since 1999.
As of 1st May 2015, RAM has raised in excess of £685m for its tax efficient products, over a period of just under 8 years. During this period, RAM raised £685m through approximately 70 independent offers, and on average achieved 75% of maximum funds sought per offer.
